As I’m getting “ older “ I’ve really been thinking about the concept of time. This has been further exasperated by icons of my past now being listed as “ vintage “. I took art history in college all the way before written language to modern time. Art has been a way throughout history to both document and preserve time. No doubt in my mind that the artists of the past could not foresee now as we today can not foresee the future. What will the world be like long after I am gone? What will it even be like in another 30 years from now?
I’ve been working on a collection that explores time. The passing of time. Time in the arts. The preservation of time. The merging of time. The trends that come and go. The trends that resurface. What is it that makes something a signifier of time?
